Job summary

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) is seeking a Full Time Pharmacy Technician 1 who will prepare medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. The technician will assist with dispensing, price-checking, and restocking of drugs, and will support the Pharmacy team in maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include collecting and verifying prescription data, stocking supplies, and escalating questions to pharmacists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as Pharmacy Technician.
• State of FL Pharmacy Technician registration required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
• Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
• Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
• Refers providers’ calls and medical questions to Pharmacist.
• Participates in orientation and assigned training program to attain competency in pharmacy technician duties.
• Stays abreast of basic knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and standards, pharmacy informatics and technology including medication dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations.
