Job summary

The University of Rochester's URMC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician trainee to support medication storage, inventory management, and medication delivery.

You will triage phone calls, assist customers and patients under pharmacist supervision, and prepare for the PTCB certification through the URMC PTU program.

This position requires a high school diploma and enrollment or certification within 180 days, with compensation range shown and a commitment to confidentiality and excellent service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous work experience in health care preferred.
• Be enrolled in URMC ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (PTTP) or become certified through an alternate method within 180 days required
• PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech via the PTCB Certification Exam within 180 days required

Responsibilities

• Trains and participates in inventory management and storage of medications.
• Triages phone calls and handles medication requests under pharmacist follow-up.
• Completes PTU program training, rotations, and related coursework.
• Delivers patient medications via pneumatic tube system and hand delivery.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.

Education
