Beacon Kalamazoo is seeking a Pharmacy Tech Advocate to join the team in Kalamazoo, MI. This full-time position (40 hrs/wk) offers day shifts with a mix of rotating first/second shifts and every other weekend and holiday.

You will work under a licensed pharmacist to prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and ensure accurate inventory control. The ideal candidate will be credentialed by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy before hire and maintain licensure.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to perform accurate calculations for medication preparation.
• Strong interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships.
• Credential required before hire and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
• Restocks the order and maintains inventory for the Pharmacy department.
• Prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Prepares hazardous sterile and non-sterile compounds and preparations.
• Repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Triages incoming calls and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.
