Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Tech Advocate to join Beacon Kalamazoo. You will support dispensing under pharmacist supervision, maintain inventory, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate has Michigan Pharmacy Tech credential and strong communication and math skills. This is a full-time role with daytime shifts, potential overtime, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Pharmacy Tech credential from the Michigan Board of Pharmacy required prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Strong communication and mathematical abilities to compute fractions, ratios, percentages and totals.

Responsibilities

About Beacon Kalamazoo

Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. What You'll Do

A Pharmacy Tech Advoc reports to the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor. Under the clinical supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and legal and regulatory requirements, you will compound sterile products and prepare unit-of-use pharmaceuticals for dispensing and ensure delivery of products and pharmaceutical supplies to patient care areas. You will also maintain pharmacy working inventory.

Pharmacy Tech Advoc Job Responsibilities:

Refills and maintains automated dispensing systems.
Restocks the order and maintains inventory for the Pharmacy department.
Prepares sterile and non-sterile compounds.
Prepares hazardous sterile and non-sterile compounds and preparations.
Repackages bulk medications.
Receives and stores incoming supplies.
Triages incoming calls and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing information.

Organizational Responsibilities

Attend and participate in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
Complete mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
Complete annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR), and other certifications as required by position/department.
Utilize appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
Comply with established organization and department policies.
Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.
