Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist under pharmacist supervision with daily pharmacy operations, including preparing and distributing medications to patients and care areas.

Responsibilities include processing orders, obtaining refills, data entry, and accurate medication retrieval, under the direction of the pharmacist. A Missouri/Iowa-specific licensure pathway is required and driving may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Certified Technician required within 12 months from registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
• Registered with Iowa Board of Pharmacy as a Technician prior to starting employment.
• Or as a Pharmacy Intern Registered with the State of Iowa at time of hire.
• If driving, valid Iowa driver's license.

• Enters accurate and complete data into the computer system and verifies information.

Job description

Shift: Rotating 8-hour shifts

What you will do:

• Receives and transcribes new orders and refill authorizations.
• Uses medication orders to identify, locate and pull appropriate quantity of medication needed.
• Accurately requests refill authorizations from prescribers (or not applicable to I/P Tech).
• Delivers prescription orders to patients or patient care area under the direction of the
• Performs computer data entry and print functions.
• Gathers information required to prepare prescriptions and/or other pharmacy functions.
• Enters accurate and complete data into computer system.
• Verifies and maintains up-to-date information.

Qualifications:
