Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Tech to support medication distribution and patient care. Responsibilities include processing physician and pharmacist requests, accurate labeling, and timely delivery of meds and supplies. The role involves stocking, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with procedures.

This position offers flexible scheduling as needed. Qualified candidates include those with a Pharm-Intern license, Pharmacy Technician

Qualifications

• Pharmacist-Intern or Pharmacy Technician license or HS diploma or certificate required.
• Accurate medication filling and labeling following procedures.
• Ability to handle controlled substances with proper documentation.
• Comfort with distributing medications and stocking inventory.

Responsibilities

• Procures and distributes medication orders per physician or pharmacist request.
• Fills medication orders accurately and ensures proper labeling.
• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care areas per schedule.
• Maintains adequate stock and assists in receiving, unpacking and stocking.
• Rotates stock to minimize expiration and replaces outdated drugs.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Procures and distributes medications orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols

• Accurately fills medication orders and follows labeling requirements:

• Physician orders First doses and non-Pyxis medications (if applicable) Labeling follows departmental procedures

• Products are bar-coded according to departmental procedures

• Investigational medications (if applicable)

• Accurately prepackages medications following departmental procedures

• Delivers medications and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas accurately per established schedule Dispenses controlled substances accurately with proper documentation; counting discrepancies and suspected diversions are immediately brought to the attention of a pharmacist

• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures Assists in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals and supplies in appropriate locations

• Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date.

• Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs Restocks pharmacy inventory

What qualifications you will need:

• (PHARM-Intern) Pharmacist - Intern, or (PharmTech) Pharmacy Technician License, or High School Graduate / GED, or Certificate
