Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA is seeking a pharmacist for full-time evening shifts with rotating weekends. The role involves interpreting orders, compounding and dispensing medications, and monitoring drug therapy in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include maintaining formulary, providing accurate drug information, supporting clinical services, documenting activities, and supervising pharmacy operations. Requires ACPE-accredited degree and hospital experience.

  • Document clinical activities and interventions.
  • Complete notification reports for medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
  • Supervise pharmacy operations and support the team.

Job Summary And Qualifications
  • Interpret orders and transcribe or verify them accurately and efficiently into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies and appropriateness of drug and dose.
  • Sustain the hospital formulary, minimizing nonformulary procurements, utilizing therapeutic interchanges and promotes rational drug therapy selection.
  • Provide accurate and timely medication information to healthcare staff and patients.
  • Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV to PO, renal dosing and other programs as defined by Pharmacy Leadership.
  • Document all clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
  • Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
  • Effectively supervise pharmacy operation activities and provide support to the whole pharmacy team.
What qualifications you will need:
  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy required
  • Hospital experience is required
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy
  • 1 year of Hospital experience required. Residency experience preferred.
