Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking an employee to perform clerical and distribution duties related to prescription fulfillment and order processing. You will communicate with customers, handle documentation, and assist with shipping and packaging.

This role requires accurate data entry, ability to verify demographic information, and a state Pharmacy Technician license where required. A high school diploma and clerical experience are preferred, with forklift operation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one-year clerical/office experience.
  • Education to meet state licensure requirements as directed by state of jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain complete and accurate documentation for prescription fulfillment and billing.
  • Communicate with customers to answer questions and refilling medications and/or supplies.
  • Prepare and process customer orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review and enter confirmations of orders and medical documentation for dispensing RXs and Billing RXs.
  • Generate confirmations to fax to providers for approval and follow up on required documentation.
  • Prepare shipments by selecting items, labeling boxes, and forwarding to pharmacist for verification.
  • Operate shipping systems to generate labels and sort packages for pickup.
  • Maintain clean work areas and stock supplies; may operate forklift/pallet jack as needed.
  • Maintain communication with customers via phone/computer and verify demographic information.

Job description

This employee works in both clerical and distribution roles as needed.

  • Responsible for obtaining complete and accurate documentation for prescription fulfillment and billing
  • Communicates with customers for the purposes of answering questions and refilling medications and/or supplies
  • Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and processing of customer orders
Medical Clerical Duties
  • Reviews and enters Confirmation of Orders, medical documentation to fulfill dispensing RXs and Billing RXs for pharmacy and Medicare
  • Generates accurate Confirmation of Orders to be faxed to providers for approval
  • Communicates with providers the required documentation needed to complete an order
  • Performs daily followup with providers for required documentation
  • Communicates with customers via inbound and outbound manual and/or automated calls
  • Enters customer orders
  • Verifies and updates demographic information such as address and telephone number, as well as document information
  • Troubleshoot issues with customers account such as tracking packages, prescription questions
Distribution/Shipping Duties
  • Prepares box stock for use by operation of box taping machine or by hand taping of boxes
  • Views customer orders in computerized order system
    • Pulls and packages appropriate equipment and/or medications to fill order
    • Affixes proper prescription and barcode labels to medication boxes, handwrites any special instructions (i.e. signature required, UPS only, etc.) on the barcode label and forwards the filled order to the pharmacist for verification prior to shipment
  • Stocks work stations with appropriate supplies and product/equipment
  • Prepares packages for shipment using computerized shipping systems by creating and affixing accurate shipping labels, sorting the packages by carrier and stacking them in the appropriate area for pickup by the designated carrier
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, shipping supply area, and work stations neat
  • May operate forklift and/or pallet jack
  • Strong verbal and written communication
    • Able to use both computer and phone to provide this communication
  • Ability to hold state Pharmacy Technician License as required in state of jurisdiction
  • When required, must be able to pass a medical clearance and fit test for personal protective equipment ("PPE")
Education and Experience:
  • Graduate from an accredited high school or equivalent
  • Minimum of one-year clerical/office experience
  • Education to meet state licensure requirements as directed by state of jurisdiction
Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
