Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. in Dallas, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support morning and evening shifts in a busy hospital. You will operate Automated Dispensing Cabinets, perform med storage inspections, and assist with sterile compounding and labeling to USP standards.

Candidates must have national certification (PTCB or NHA) and Texas registration; IV certification is a plus. Hospital experience is preferred and associates degree or equivalent is welcome.

Qualifications

• National certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
• Texas State Board registration (Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern) required.
• IV certification preferred.
• IV room experience a plus.
• 1-3 years hospital experience preferred.
• Associates Degree or equivalent level of education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs).
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections.
• Performs required calculations accurately.
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures.
• Uses aseptic techniques in parenteral compounding.
• Complies with USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements.
• Identifies issues, prioritizes workload, and communicates promptly.
• Completes education requirements to maintain competency.
• Interacts with hospital personnel in person and by phone.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission and Value Statement.

Job Summary and Qualifications

* This is a Full Time position to cover morning/evening shifts. Hours will vary between 6:30am-10:30pm *

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions in a timely manner. In addition, they are responsible for performing duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs), other specialized duties and/or leadership roles as assigned by the pharmacy management team.

What You Will Do In This Role

• Performs duties associated with Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs)
• Accurately performs and documents monthly medication storage area inspections as assigned
• Accurately performs required calculations
• Accurately and safely compounds and labels medications and parenteral admixtures
• Always utilizes aseptic techniques in the preparation of parenteral compounding
• Compliant with all USP 795, 797, 800 daily/monthly requirements (i.e. Cleaning laminar airflow cabinets and biological safety cabinets, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.)
• Identifies critical issues, prioritize workload and communicate to appropriate personnel any issues in a timely manner
• Completes all education requirements and/or other activities needed to maintain competency
• Interacts in person and by phone with hospital personnel politely and appropriately
• Performs other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:
