Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in prior authorizations, cold-chain handling, pharmacy software, and compassionate patient communication.

Job description

The Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists in processing specialty prescriptions, coordinating insurance approvals, and managing complex medication logistics for patients with chronic or rare conditions. Patient & Shipping Coordination: Conduct refill check-ins and arrange cold-chain packaging and door-to-door delivery logistics.

Responsibilities

• Insurance & Financial Assistance: Process complex drug claims, submit prior authorizations (PAs), and enroll patients in co-pay assistance or grant programs.
• Prescription Processing: Enter, count, label, and package specialized injectables and biologics under pharmacist supervision.
• Inventory & Compliance: Maintain high-cost inventory and comply with state board, HIPAA, and accreditation standards (URAC/ACHC).

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Become proficient in all software utilized in the pharmacies.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds
