Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician a plus.
  • Accurate medication and generic knowledge.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, and crouch frequently.
  • Ability to perform light lifting (up to 10 pounds) and repetitious physical activity.
  • Creating a safe, effective environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all pharmacy technician duties assigned by the manager, lead and/or licensed pharmacist.
  • Pull, pack and label medications according to the instruction generated on the labels and in accordance with standards of pharmacy practice.
  • Prepare medication for shipment.
  • Take ongoing inventory; check in drugs and supplies and stock shelves.
  • Check and remove outdated medications on a routine basis to ensure that no expired medications are in stock. Keep records appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Continue to educate by attending drug in-services and by keeping up with policy changes.
  • Clean and help maintain equipment and work areas according to prescribed methods.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision of a licensed pharmacy technician, and in accordance with local, state, federal and company laws and regulations assist the Pharmacists and Supervisors with day-to-day activities in the pharmacy.
