Job Overview

Plans, directs, and supervises team members in the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: technician hiring, filling prescriptions accurately, staff training, financial management, inventory control, scheduling, providing friendly service, team building, clinical services, patient safety, and ensuring pharmacy adherence to all corporate policies, federal and state laws.

What You'll be Doing:

• Staffing selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Conducting performance reviews of pharmacists and technicians.
• Documenting and applying disciplinary actions.
• Filling prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Implementing and managing pharmacy programs, including financial results, clinical services, labor, inventory, stock loss, security, patient services, and profitability.
• Educating and mentoring pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Motivating team members to perform at their best.
• Holding team members accountable and aiming to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Demonstrating strong leadership and development skills.
• Being knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures, and state and federal laws.
• Performing clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
• Communicating effectively and prioritizing workload.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
• CPR Certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in retail/community practice.
• Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacy systems, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.
