Job summary

Kroger is seeking a pharmacy clerk to support health and wellness services while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will assist the pharmacist, manage patient interactions within HIPAA guidelines, and help maintain accurate inventory, pricing, and billing processes.

As part of a large, nationwide grocer, you’ll work in a role focused on safety, accuracy, and community care, with opportunities for training and advancement in store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations according to health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
• Understand and perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow company guidelines on computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements and supplies.
• Maintain clean and organized work stations and customer waiting areas.
• Complete billing procedures to ensure value to customer and company.
• Answer phone calls and triage inquiries as appropriate.
• Operate cash register and follow cashier policies to prevent loss; handle Credit/Debit, EBT, Gift Cards, cash and checks.
• Provide a stellar customer experience during reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing; assist pharmacist as needed.
• Understand HIPAA regulations and the company policies regarding the same.
