Job description

Overview

The Supervisor, Pharmacy coordinates pharmacy services and ensures daily delivery of optimal clinical services. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe and cost-effective drug therapies. Assists leadership with the development and implementation of departmental goals and objectives in alignment with the hospital's philosophy and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises and leads the provision of safe, timely, efficient, equitable, effective, and patient-centered pharmacy services.
  • Serves as the liaison to coordinate compliance and regulatory issues for areas of responsibility.
  • Identifies opportunities to redesign systems of oversight to maximize performance (e.g., labor and operational efficiency).
  • Conducts competency assessments, observes and reviews pharmacist and technician compounding techniques, and coordinates/evaluates media fill.
  • Coordinates and oversees all aspects of the pharmacy services quality assurance program. Maintains all records and reports in compliance with regulations.
  • Serves as a pharmacy team liaison to interdisciplinary team members for areas of responsibility (e.g., nurse managers, medical directors, clinic leadership, informatics teams). Participates as a member of the pharmacy department in multidisciplinary teams and committees.
  • Leads initiatives to identify gaps in training knowledge and areas for improvement.
Experience Qualifications
  • Required: 3 years of experience in Pharmacy settings or PGY1 or PGY2 with Pharmacist-in-Charge responsibilities (CHNOLA/NOEH/UMC/EJGH, Touro).
Education Qualifications
  • Required: Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy (CHNOLA/EJGH, Touro).
