Position Summary

Pharmacy Supervisor – Full Time Evenings – Pharmacy. The role ensures smooth operation of department activities, coordinates formulation and dispensing of pharmaceuticals, procurement, storage, and control of medications, and supports the Director and Clinical Pharmacy Manager. The supervisor handles staff scheduling, duty assignments, staff orientation, and implements pharmacy policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate medication formulation, dispensing, procurement, and storage.
• Ensure compliance with hospital standards, regulatory, legal, and accreditation requirements.
• Support the Director and Clinical Pharmacy Manager in departmental operations.
• Schedule staff, assign duties, and adjust assignments for workload fluctuations.
• Assist in staff orientation and ongoing training.
• Educate staff on drug therapy monitoring and patient response.
• Consult physicians on medication issues and requirements.
• Conduct research and evaluation of pharmaceutical products regarding quality, stability, and utility.
• Provide drug information to staff and keep them informed of product changes.
• Organize drug education programs and maintain current knowledge through literature.
• Implement drug selection, patient monitoring, formulary, and drug control programs.
• Develop therapeutic conversion, dosage protocols, and IV‑to‑oral conversion policies.
• Supervise pharmacy staff activities including receiving, stocking, prepackaging, labeling, compounding, dispensing, and delivery of medications.
• Inspect drug deliveries and ensure accurate and acceptable shipments.
• Maintain proper storage, inventory monitoring, and adequate staffing levels.
• Place orders through wholesalers and manage inventory levels.
• Assist in developing short and long‑term goals and objectives, administer programs, and revise policies and procedures.
• Assist in hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Identify and prioritize departmental tasks, monitor progress, and pursue service improvement.
• Provide staff with performance planning and training, behavioral feedback, and compliance with standards.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, both internal and external.
• Manage diverse situations, multitask, organize workload, and adapt to changing needs.
• Communicate high standards of compassionate care and collaborate with other departments.
• Maintain discipline and workflow continuity.

Minimum Qualifications
