AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a Pharmacy Student Relief PRN for Nights. Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist with compounding, dispensing and delivery of medications to patients across age groups.

As a student progressing through your PharmD, you may participate in patient counseling and support pharmacy operations, with duties including restocking supplies and handling calls, while contributing to a high-quality care team in Kansas.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy degree program.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• RPT-LIC registered pharmacy technician required or PHARMINT intern required or CPHT certified.
• PHARMINT pharmacy intern required.
• CPHT certified pharmacy technician required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pharmacotechnical tasks under pharmacist supervision, including compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications.
• Assist with patient counseling as progress through PharmD program.
• Maintain accuracy and accountability in all controlled substances transactions.
• Answer the phone promptly and forward calls appropriately.
• Restock boxes, kits, trays, and code cart trays.

The role you’ll contribute:

Responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures utilizing radionuclides for diagnosing and treating diseases in humans. This position delivers quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric and ensures service levels are maintained.

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician/Student performs all accountabilities associated with the compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patients. As the student progresses through their PharmD program, they may have the potential to do patient counseling in addition to their technician responsibilities.
