Job summary

UK HealthCare is seeking a Pharmacy Sr Tech I for the Pediatric Pharmacy in Lexington, KY. In this temporary on-call role, you will assist pharmacists in delivering medications to patients at Kentucky Children’s Hospital and prepare patient doses.

The ideal candidate will have a high school education, 2 years of related experience, and necessary pharmacy certifications. Strong customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to handle various shifts and physical demands of the role.

Qualifications

• 2 years pharmacy or related experience is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy is mandatory.
• Must be able to stand for more than 5 hours and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in providing medications to patients in Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
• Prepare and deliver individual patient doses and batch doses including compounded sterile products.
• Participate in replenishing automated dispensing cabinets.

Requirements

• Required Education: High School
• Required Related Experience: 2yrs pharmacy or related experience
• Required License/Registration/Certification: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy
• Physical Requirements: May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time. May require ability to reach items above shoulder level and lift up to 30 pounds.

Work Schedule

Candidate must be available for various shifts (first, second, third) and work 1‑2 weekends per month year‑round, help cover extra shifts during summer and holiday breaks. Rotation will include at least one summer and one winter holiday.

Job Summary
