Summary of Job Duties:

The Pharmacy Specialist is responsible for delivering advanced pharmaceutical care, including the management and optimization of medication therapy, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing expert advice on drug-related issues. This position involves collaborating with healthcare providers, conducting medication reviews, and participating in patient education to improve health outcomes.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy Degree
  • Completion of PGY1 residency or 3 years of applicable experience
  • Arkansas pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PGY1 / PGY2 residency completion
  • Board Certified in the applicable area
  • 5 years of applicable experience

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees patient care functions, including maintaining accurate records and refining medication therapies to improve treatment results.
  • Handles task prioritization adjusts to shifts in practice and addresses day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Adhere to pharmacy laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Provides training and instruction to staff members and pharmacy students.
  • Participates in initiatives for process enhancement, policy revisions, or research activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
