Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a pharmacy clerk to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced store environment. You will assist pharmacists, manage cashier duties, and help with inventory and data entry while maintaining HIPAA privacy and accuracy in dispensing

The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED and being 18 years or older. The position is on-site with opportunities to engage in health and wellness initiatives and community care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position.
• Previous comparable experience is a plus.
• Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk is acceptable.
• EPRN familiarity is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity.
• Follow food safety, sanitation and health code regulations and notify management.
• Manage ordering with primary and secondary wholesalers.
• Follow guidelines on inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized work stations and waiting areas.
• Count, measure and prepare specified product following company best practices.
• Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for customer and company.
• Answer phone, triage calls and handle inquiries as appropriate.
• Follow vendor coupon guidelines and shrink controls.
• Operate cash register and process transactions securely.
• Provide a stellar customer experience through reception, data entry, adjudication and dispensing.
• Assist pharmacist in responsibilities excluding professional judgment.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company privacy policies.
• Support health and wellness initiatives.
• Handle legend orders including Central Fill deliveries.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity of customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Interact with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
