Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide empathetic, patient-centered care in a high-volume community setting. You will counsel patients on medications, perform drug therapy reviews, and ensure safe and accurate dispensing while supporting immunizations and wellness services.

You will manage pharmacy operations, oversee staff activities, and maintain regulatory compliance, using pharmacy software and IT systems to optimize workflow, inventory, and billing.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist with current state licensure.
• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited program.
• Experience with prescription dispensing, insurance billing and regulatory compliance.
• Immunization certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Counsel patients on medication usage, interactions, and safety.
• Perform compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and review for correctness.
• Ensure pharmacy operations comply with laws and policies; oversee staff scheduling.
• Utilize Good Faith Dispensing principles with federal/state regulations.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on business opportunities and patient care.
• Maintain pharmacy IT systems, inventory, billing, and clinical documentation.
• Process insurance claims and resolve third-party issues for patients.
• Follow up with providers on dosing, refills, and interactions; support vaccine services.
• Deliver immunizations and other wellness services; support patient outcomes.
