Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 600 hours in retail and/or pharmacy operations or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information in the computer system, including patient and prescriber searches, drug selection, insurance billing, and issue resolution.
• Process new and refill prescriptions and obtain necessary refill authorization from doctors where allowed by state law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory as permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers as allowed by state law.
• Place medications into prescription containers in accordance with state regulations.
• Complete paperwork for filling prescriptions and input required data into systems.
• Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department, keeping it clean and organized.
• Participate in inventory management, including order reviews, returns, restocking, and cycle counts.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where state law permits.
