Required License/Registration/Certification
Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB ( PTCE ) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Shift
Primarily dayshift between hours of ; Monday – Friday 7:30am-7pm. May include some holidays and weekends per business needs-location currently not open on weekends. Location and shifts subject to change based on the needs of the department
Job Summary
Position helps provide primary support for the inventory needs of the location. Responsible for placing orders, checking outdated drugs, inventory rotation, looking for ways to reduce inventory costs, checking for discrepancies, returning expired medications and handling recalled drugsCompounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Position supports all patients who wish to utilize the services of the new location. Position supports and provides assistance with the documentation, filling of prescriptions, financial assistance with acquisition of medications, billing and dispensing of the medications to all patients including delivery to patient.

Preferred Education/Experience
Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
