Job summary

University of Kentucky’s Chandler - Retail Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Sr Tech I in a fast-paced retail setting to assist pharmacists, fill and dispense prescriptions, and deliver friendly, patient-centered service at UKHC in Lexington, KY.

The requirements include a High School diploma, 1 year of related experience, and National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) with CPhT and Kentucky Board registration within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position may require sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to or over 50 pounds. Must also be able to reach above or below waist level. Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and blood-borne or airborne pathogens.

Shift

Shifts may vary depending on location. Hours and days of week subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Requires occasional holiday and weekend rotations are part of the shifts. Number of hours scheduled per week may vary. Potential shifts and locations available will be discussed during the interview. Shifts may be at off campus locations in Lexington and Richmond, KY. If selected for one of these positions, reliable transportation will be needed.

Preferred Education/Experience

Retail and/or Hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred but not required. Hired candidate must maintain licensure as CPhT from PTCB/ExCPT during employment in this position.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate's experience.
