Position Summary

Provides expert pharmacy content and professional leadership on complex sales assignments and projects. The primary responsibility includes collaborating with internal sales and client managers to develop and execute strategies for selling integrated programs in the 0500 Segment. Develops and implements sales strategies to meet sales objectives. Exercises creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge to advise leaders on the value pharmacy brings to the integrated model. Focuses on providing thought leadership to support integrated sales and broader projects, requiring an understanding of wider business contexts. Recognized as a subject matter expert internally.

This role is eligible for sales incentive compensation (IC).

Job Responsibilities

  1. Meet or exceed annual territory sales goals by acquiring new integrated and carve-in customers in collaboration with Cigna Healthcare Sales channel partners.
  2. Effectively communicate the use of Cigna's value proposition in sales efforts.
  3. Provide consultative, subject-matter expert information when promoting Cigna pharmacy services.
  4. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales meeting requirements, demonstrating strong execution of sales processes.
  5. Identify and understand each sales prospect’s needs, goals, organizational influences, and decision-making processes.
  6. Record and manage all sales activities in SharePoint.
  7. Create and present territory-specific internal strategy documents.
  8. Lead pharmacy-related internal and external sales meetings.
  9. Manage request-for-proposal (RFP) analysis to ensure best practices.
  10. Represent Cigna Pharmacy Management at finalist meetings and in the market.
  11. Stay current on PBM industry trends and competitive knowledge.
  12. Maintain positive relationships with internal departments and team members.
  13. Collaborate with client managers to identify and pursue vetted medical-only clients for transition to integrated programs.
  14. Partner with brokers, TPA, employer groups, benefit consultants, and government entities regarding plan benefits.
  15. Hold monthly strategic meetings with client managers on pharmacy best practices.
  16. Coordinate with the implementation team to ensure smooth transitions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years in the PBM sector, including product and pricing experience.
  • Sales or direct client management experience.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills.
  • Well-developed relationship management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills to convey value internally and externally.
  • Strong work ethic, competitive spirit, and determination to succeed in winnable opportunities.
  • Ability to develop productive relationships with internal stakeholders and key producers.
  • Self-motivated to succeed.

Note: For remote work, internet connection must be via cable broadband or fiber optic with at least 10Mbps download and 5Mbps upload speeds.

This role is eligible for an incentive compensation plan.
