Job summary

Thriftway Pharmacy in New York is seeking a full-time Cashier to manage all customer transactions accurately and efficiently. You will handle payments, issue receipts, and ensure correct bagging while providing excellent customer service.

Evening and weekend shifts may be required to support busy hours. Responsibilities include operating cash registers, scanning items, processing cash or credit payments, redeeming coupons, cross-selling products, and maintaining a clean checkout area to maximize

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service position.
• Good knowledge of how cash registers operate.
• Availability to take evening and weekend shifts occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
• Finding customers prepared medication and ensuring correct bag is handed over.
• Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
• Collect payments whether in cash or credit.
• Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets.
• Redeem coupons.
• Cross-sell products and introduce new ones.
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
• Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
• Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies.
• Bag, box or wrap packages.
• Handle merchandise returns exchanges and stocking inventory onto shelves.
