Job summary

MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Procurement Coordinator to support the Pharmacy Department's inventory management under pharmacy leadership. The role emphasizes cost-containment initiatives, standardization, and efficient purchasing practices.

As part of the procurement team, you will coordinate with vendors, maintain HRSA-compliant accounts, post invoices, and ensure stock levels meet par levels for uninterrupted pharmaceutical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred
• 1-2 years of job-related experience in purchasing and inventory activities including experience with basic computer principles required

Responsibilities

• Works with Senior Pharmacy Procurement Coordinator to determine most competitive price/service arrangements.
• Uses vendor website and split software entries to place orders appropriately; maintain accounts and HRSA compliance.
• Maintains accounts on websites and confirms current vendor information.
• Posts invoices, verifies vendor information and resolves discrepancies.
• Takes inventory of pharmaceuticals and other supplies; rotates stock and removes expired items.
• Maintains inventory at predetermined par levels to ensure stock and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in developing cost reduction strategies; provides feedback on order status and cost savings.
• Performs routine procurement duties to address past due orders and service issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
