Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a diligent Pharmacy Procurement Agent to manage purchasing of pharmaceuticals for the PHS system, ensuring contract compliance and providing monthly financial, purchasing, and issue reports to pharmacy administration.

The role supports stock management, supplier coordination, and emergency sourcing to maintain uninterrupted patient care. Days shift with full-time status in New Mexico, with benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• NM Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in pharmacy, preferably in purchasing.
• Experience with contracts and pricing in a pharmacy setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate stock of pharmaceuticals.
• Serve as supplier and purchasing consultant to regional hospitals and clinics.
• Ensure contract compliance and correct pricing for all purchases.
• Provide pharmacy administration with monthly financial, purchasing, and issue reports.
• Interact with pharmaceutical representatives to ensure adequate service levels.
• Research short-supply items, find alternative sources, and obtain emergency pharmaceuticals when required.
• Communicate with pharmacy staff on the availability of pharmaceuticals.
• Process all drug recalls and check stock for recalled items.
• Adhere to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Review wholesaler reports for unpaid invoices.
• Track invoices with Accounts Payable.
• Conduct complete inventories of stock and complete reports.
• Perform other functions as required.
