Job Summary

Our Pharmacy Process Improvement Lead serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Pharmacy Officer and pharmacy executive leadership team, driving the execution of enterprise pharmacy priorities across quality, safety, clinical outcomes, operational performance, regulatory readiness, and financial stewardship.

This role provides centralized leadership for Pharmacy's strategic portfolio, ensuring initiatives are aligned with organizational priorities, governed effectively, measured consistently, and translated into measurable enterprise results. The position serves as the primary program management resource supporting pharmacy transformation across the continuum of care and advancing Mass General Brigham's vision of becoming a highly reliable, outcomes-driven pharmacy enterprise.

Success will be demonstrated through measurable improvements in medication safety, clinical outcomes, medication access, care transitions, operational performance, stewardship, workforce effectiveness, and achievement of nationally recognized professional practice excellence standards.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Pharmacy Officer, this position leads enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that improve medication-related outcomes, advance pharmacy practice, and strengthen organizational performance. The role partners with pharmacy leaders, operational teams, clinicians, and executive stakeholders to establish governance structures, monitor performance, coordinate complex initiatives, and drive execution of high-priority enterprise programs.

Responsibilities span project and portfolio management, strategic planning, performance measurement, executive reporting, accreditation readiness, and continuous improvement. This position serves as a key advisor and facilitator, ensuring that pharmacy initiatives deliver measurable value while supporting enterprise goals related to patient safety, quality, access, operational excellence, workforce development, and financial sustainability.

Primary Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
  • Supports the execution of the enterprise pharmacy strategic roadmap and transformation initiatives.
  • Establish governance structures, project plans, milestones, risks, and performance metrics for strategic programs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts across all pharmacy programs.
Performance Measurement & Analytics
  • Develop and maintain enterprise pharmacy scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to medication safety, clinical outcomes, access, stewardship, quality, operational performance, and financial results.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support data-driven decision-making.
Quality, Safety & Outcomes
  • Support initiatives that reduce medication-related harm and improve patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate enterprise efforts related to medication safety, high-harm medications, transitions of care, and pharmacy quality programs.
  • Driving adoption of continuous improvement methodologies and facilitating cross-functional collaboration to improve quality, operational efficiency, patient outcomes, and financial performance.
Accreditation & Professional Practice Excellence
  • Coordinate enterprise readiness activities supporting regulatory, accreditation, and professional practice standards.
  • Lead planning and implementation activities associated with achievement and maintenance of ASHP Center of Excellence designation and other nationally recognized programs.
  • Partner with pharmacy leaders to advance best practices, workforce development, and professional practice excellence.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, strategic updates, and performance reports.
  • Facilitate leadership meetings, governance committees, and enterprise workgroups.
  • Serve as a liaison between pharmacy leadership and key organizational stakeholders.
