Job summary

Renown Health is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist - Outpatient for a travel assignment in Reno, NV. You will provide outpatient pharmaceutical care to a large catchment area and work within a Level 2 trauma center environment.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, a Nevada Pharmacist license (active or temporary), and AHA BLS certification. Expect 36 scheduled hours per week across a 13-week engagement with rotating weeks of 12-hour nights.

Job Description:

• Be part of a Level 2 trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds, where your skills will be essential in improving patient outcomes.

Role Overview

• Provide evidence-based pharmaceutical care services, including:
  • Pharmacotherapy consults
  • Disease management support
  • Medication reconciliation
  • Assessment of polypharmacy issues
  • Recommendations to support patients' longitudinal care plans

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face, telephonic, or virtual pharmaceutical care services.
• Promote safe, appropriate, and cost-effective drug therapy for our patients.
• Work closely with patients and physicians to navigate medication profiles and formulary coverage.
• Perform medication monitoring and disease state management counseling.
• Document patient encounters and interventions within the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Develop patient-specific educational materials related to various disease conditions.
• Analyze drug utilization data to identify trends and recommend strategies for reducing overall drug spend.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with providers and patients.
• Contribute to quality initiatives and outcomes, ensuring comprehensive care.

Ideal Candidate

• A passionate pharmacist with at least two years of experience.
• Possesses a current State of Nevada Pharmacist license (Active or Temporary) and AHA BLS certification.
• Knowledge and experience in medication therapy management are highly recommended.
• Retail pharmacy candidates (e.g., CVS, Walgreens) are also welcome!
