Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Pharmacist - Inpatient for a 13-week assignment at a Texas hospital. The role focuses on critical care, ICU and Emergency Department pharmacotherapy, with participation in codes and trauma responses.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year acute hospital experience, or a residency, plus board certification or equivalents, and Texas licensure. Evening and swing shift availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in acute hospital setting or ASHP-accredited residency.
• 5 years of clinical care in ICU and/or Emergency Department required.
• Texas pharmacy license required.
• BCSCP or BCEMP board certification required; BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Code Blues and documents participation.
• Attends Rapid Sequence Intubations and provides medications.
• Attends Code Strokes and provides treatment recommendations.
• Reviews Code Sepsis patient profiles and prepares antibiotics and meds.
• Reviews STAT orders and provides clinical intervention where needed.
• Monitors EPIC queues for STAT orders requiring clinical action.
• Performs drug utilization reviews and monitors interactions.
• Maintains formulary integrity and participates in antibiotic stewardship.
• Provides pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring for medical staff.
• Evaluates potential adverse drug events and serves as a clinical resource.

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year in acute hospital experience or a residency accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.Required: 5 years of providing clinical care in ICU and/or Emergency Department.Required: Critical Care/Emergency medicine clinical pharmacist experience.

License:

Pharmacy license from the state board of Pharmacy is required.

Certifications:

BCSCP or BCEMP board certification is required.BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.

Must-Have:

Availability to work evenings and swing shifts.Ability to participate in codes and traumas.Experience rounding in the morning shifts is preferred.Availability for coverage 7 days a week is preferred.

Description:The Critical Care ED Pharmacist participates in Code Blues, providing necessary medications and documenting participation.The pharmacist attends Rapid Sequence Intubations in all areas of the facility and provides necessary medications.They also attend Code Strokes, reviewing patient profiles and making treatment recommendations.In cases of Code Sepsis, the pharmacist reviews patient profiles, provides antibiotic recommendations, and prepares necessary medications.They review and provide comprehensive pharmacy services for all STAT orders.Monitoring EPIC verification queues for all STAT orders requiring clinical intervention is a key responsibility.The pharmacist performs drug utilization reviews and monitors for drug interactions.They assist in maintaining the integrity of the formulary and participate in the antibiotic stewardship program.Pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring services are provided to the medical staff.The pharmacist evaluates potential adverse drug events and functions as a clinical resource for the hospital staff.
