Job summary

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston seeks a Pharmacy Supervisor – Disease Group Pharmacy to oversee daily operations of research pharmacy services, ensuring high-quality patient care and clinical research support in compliance with regulations and SOPs.

The role leads staffing, mentoring, and training, develops policies, collaborates with leadership on process improvements, and participates in quality initiatives while maintaining regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an accredited college or university.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college or university preferred.
• 5 years of pharmacy experience with demonstrated leadership interests and abilities.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Certification in a related pharmacy specialty or advanced degree/training in a specialty practice area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Institute standards regarding medication storage, preparation, and dispensing.
• Coordinate daily workflow and staffing schedules to meet patient care needs.
• Provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff; ensure ongoing training and competencies.
• Identify, triage, and resolve operational issues related to pharmacy services and patient safety.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, SOPs, and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with USP and other regulations; elevate concerns as needed.
• Participate in committees and quality improvement projects.
• Provide staffing coverage as needed to support operations.
