Job Description: Operations Manager - Pharmacy

Location:

Johns Hopkins Hospital, 1800 Orleans St., Baltimore, MD 21287

Shift:

Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift, Weekends Not Required

Position Overview:

This operations manager role is based in our Adult Medicine, Emergency, and Surgery Pharmacy, serving all adult patients on campus except oncology. The manager will oversee inpatient medication distribution, managing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and inventory staff. They will collaborate with other operations managers to support clinical pharmacy services and medication use procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to promote wellness, manage current health, or intervene in illness.
  • Assist the Division Director in managerial tasks and operational improvements.
  • Ensure safe and effective medication use by consulting with healthcare professionals and instructing patients and families.
Minimum Requirements:
  • PharmD or BS degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy; residency or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Current Maryland pharmacist licensure.
  • At least one year hospital experience supervising pharmacy personnel (preferred).
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, pharmacokinetics, and medication systems.
  • Strong communication skills and analytical abilities.
  • IV Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy-related computer systems and equipment.
Salary Range:

Minimum $53.55/hour - Maximum $93.74/hour, based on experience and qualifications. Salary discussions will occur during screening if range is not specified.
