Responsibilities
- Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities; Ensures efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under pharmacist oversight, following company policies, laws, and regulations.
- Manage pharmacy technician personnel including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Make decisions regarding discipline and termination.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, respond to requests, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Build strong relationships with customers by anticipating needs and offering healthcare services.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists in patient care activities such as registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and health services like vaccinations and screenings.
- Delegate non-clinical work, ensure tasks are completed timely, and manage pharmacy workflow and supplies.
- Prepare and file reports, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including disciplinary actions, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure licensure and certifications are active and compliant.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing education and training.
- Seek professional growth and feedback.
Communication
- Communicate with the pharmacy team and participate in meetings.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting.
- Fluent in English.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience.
- Previous Walgreens employment with high performance ratings.
