Job Responsibilities
- Perform non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist under the supervision of a pharmacist. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel. Conduct training, coaching, and performance management, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
Customer Experience
- Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, respond to requests, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Build strong relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, focusing on healthcare services enhancement.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists in patient care activities such as registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and verification. Support healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings under supervision.
- Exercise independent judgment within legal and policy guidelines to delegate non-clinical work, ensure timely task completion, and manage pharmacy workflow.
- Prepare and file reports as directed, manage inventory, and ensure pharmacy cleanliness and supply readiness.
- Ensure compliance with administrative activities, manage inventory, and oversee security measures.
- Support pharmacy operations with recordkeeping, security, error reporting, insurance claim processing, and community outreach coordination.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including disciplinary actions, hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling. Address knowledge gaps and support ongoing development.
- Monitor licensure and certifications for compliance using company resources.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing education and certifications as required.
- Engage in self-monitoring, seek feedback, and leverage mentorship for professional growth.
Communication
- Maintain effective communication within the pharmacy team and participate in store meetings.
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital settings.
- Fluency in English reading, writing, and speaking (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
