Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where permitted by law.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist in healthcare services under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians. Make decisions regarding performance issues, including discipline and termination.
Customer Experience:
- Engage with customers and patients, assist with products and services, resolve complaints, and respond to inquiries to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Build strong relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, enhancing the overall customer experience and focusing on healthcare services.
Operations:
- Assist pharmacists in patient care activities such as registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and verification. Support healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings where law permits.
- Exercise independent judgment within legal and company guidelines to delegate and manage non-clinical tasks, ensuring timely completion and accountability.
- Prepare and file reports as directed, manage pharmacy workflow, organize daily activities, and ensure the pharmacy is well-stocked and maintained.
- Oversee inventory management, recordkeeping, and security measures, including compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies and diversion monitoring.
- Handle prescription errors, insurance claims, and customer follow-ups. Support financial and operational improvements and coordinate community outreach activities.
People & Performance Management:
- Lead performance management processes for technicians, including disciplinary actions and compliance with regulations. Handle hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling.
- Identify training gaps and support team development. Ensure all licensures and certifications are active and compliant.
Training & Personal Development:
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing education and training. Seek professional development opportunities and feedback for continuous improvement.
Communication:
- Maintain effective communication within the pharmacy team and participate in meetings and check-ins.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital settings.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
