Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where permitted by law.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technician personnel, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Customer Experience
- Engage with customers and patients, resolve complaints, and respond to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Develop strong customer relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, focusing on healthcare services to enhance the customer experience.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists in delivering patient care, including registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and health services like vaccinations and screenings, where law permits.
- Delegate non-clinical work, ensure timely task completion, and manage pharmacy workflow and inventory. Prepare reports for company and government agencies.
- Ensure pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and stock levels. Manage inventory and compliance activities independently under pharmacist supervision.
- Drive technology and process improvements, maintain equipment, and ensure security and compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handle insurance claims, resolve customer issues, and support financial and operational improvements.
- Coordinate community outreach and build relationships with retail partners.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including discipline and termination, ensuring compliance with laws and policies.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of pharmacy technicians.
- Identify training gaps and support team development. Ensure licensure and certification compliance.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and stay updated on pharmacy and healthcare knowledge.
- Complete required training and certifications, and seek professional growth opportunities.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with the pharmacy team and participate in store meetings.
- Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, PTCB or ExCPT certification (excluding Puerto Rico), at least one year of pharmacy technician experience, and fluency in English. Willingness to work flexible hours is required.
