Responsibilities

• Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, administrative activities where allowed by law; ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
• Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under pharmacist supervision, within legal and company guidelines.
• Lead recruitment, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians. Make decisions regarding discipline and termination.

Customer Experience

• Engage with customers and patients, resolve complaints, respond to requests, and answer non-clinical questions to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
• Build strong relationships with customers, anticipate needs, and promote healthcare services to enhance the experience.

Operations

• Assist pharmacists with patient registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and healthcare services like vaccinations and screenings, where legally permitted.
• Delegate non-clinical tasks, ensure timely completion, and maintain pharmacy cleanliness and supplies.
• Prepare reports, manage workflow, and oversee inventory and security in collaboration with the Pharmacy Manager.

People & Performance Management

• Manage technician performance, including discipline and hiring, and ensure compliance with licensing and legal requirements.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintain PTCB certification, pursue ongoing education, and seek professional growth opportunities.

Communication

• Maintain effective communication within the pharmacy team and participate in meetings and check-ins.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, PTCB or ExCPT certification (excluding Puerto Rico), and at least one year of pharmacy technician experience.
• Fluent in English; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership experience and prior Walgreens employment with high performance ratings.
