Responsibilities
- Accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under pharmacist supervision, adhering to policies, laws, and regulations.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
Customer Experience
- Greet customers, assist with products and services, resolve complaints, and respond to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices.
- Build strong relationships by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, focusing on healthcare services to enhance the customer experience.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists with patient care activities, including registration, prescription entry, medication preparation, and health services like vaccinations and screenings, within legal boundaries.
- Exercise independent judgment to delegate and manage non-clinical tasks, ensure timely completion, and maintain a clean and stocked pharmacy environment.
- Prepare reports, manage inventory, and drive operational excellence, including technology rollouts and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies, monitor for diversion, communicate prescription errors, and handle insurance claims and third-party audits.
- Support community outreach, coordinate off-site immunization clinics, and build retail partnerships.
People & Performance Management
- Lead technician performance management, including discipline, hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling, ensuring licensure and certification compliance.
- Identify training gaps and support team development through hands-on training or learning modules.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing education and certifications. Seek professional growth through feedback and mentoring.
Communication
- Communicate effectively with the pharmacy team and participate in store meetings. Must have a High School Diploma or GED, PTCB or ExCPT certification, and at least one year of pharmacy technician experience.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Previous leadership experience and familiarity with Walgreens are preferred.
