Job summary

Walgreens in the United States seeks a full-time Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in delivering accurate prescriptions and patient care. Under supervision, you will handle prescription data entry, medication preparation, and patient registration to ensure safety and satisfaction.

You will support the pharmacy team, participate in training, and help maintain inventory, quality improvement, and efficient workflow while upholding company policies and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations)

Responsibilities

• Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist pharmacist in patient care including prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting and verification where allowed by law.
• Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians and provide direction on disciplinary actions.
