Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Liaison to coordinate outpatient prescriptions. The role focuses on ensuring safe, timely fulfillment by managing prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, and routing to the contract pharmacy.

It connects patients, prescribers, pharmacies, payers, and the care team with confidentiality and empathy. The position requires knowledge of prescription workflows, insurance processes, and the ability to navigate language services when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical office or retail pharmacy experience with knowledge of prescription drug insurance and prior authorization processes required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (NY Board of Pharmacy) within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of prescription workflows, insurance processes, and prior authorization requirements.
• Verify insurance coverage and determine patient eligibility; complete and track prior authorization requests.
• Collaborates with pharmacists, prescribers, case managers, and contract pharmacy partners to prevent therapy delays.
