Job summary

Shields Health Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to serve as the primary contact for specialty pharmacy patients in an outpatient clinic setting in Massachusetts. The role involves coordinating refills, drug delivery, resolving insurance and copay issues, and monitoring adherence in collaboration with pharmacists and clinic staff.

Requirements include 2–5 years of experience, state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician, and HS Diploma or GED. National CPhT is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician licensed by the state; CPhT preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

As the single point of contact for a specialty pharmacy patient, liaisons assess needs and provide support with every refill, coordinate drug delivery, address any new insurance and/or copay challenges, and monitor for adherence. When issues arise, they work across the care continuum with other clinical and pharmacy team members including the clinical pharmacist, the prescriber, and the clinic staff to ensure concerns are resolved quickly.

Experience / Education

• Required Licensure/Certification: We are seeking experienced pharmacy technicians who are registered with the State of employment. Nationally certified as a CPhT is preferred but not required
• Years of Experience: Required 2-5 years, Preferred 5-8 years experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required
• Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgement, strong verbal and written communication, highly proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word; able to quickly learn other software programs and able to extract relevant information; strong organizational/administrative skills a must

An employee in this position can expect a salary rate between $50,000.00 and $65,000.00 plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable. The actual salary will depend on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law.

Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as, navigating the internet and web-based platforms. Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment as part of the pre-employment process.
