Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree and current Colorado State pharmacy license.
• Ability to read a technical manual, retain and comprehend.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Basic math functions; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Writing skills to complete complex forms for budgets, inventories, orders, SST, communications, and reports.
• 24 hours of continuing pharmaceutical education every two years.
• Retail experience.
• Pharmacy department experience.
• Utilizes good customer service skills.
• Demonstrates ability to read and write.
• Applies basic math and accounting skills.
• Utilizes good communication skills.
• Knowledgeable of all products in department.
• Knowledgeable of Pharmacy laws, rules, and regulation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and accurately fill prescriptions in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Advise customers on prescription medicines and non-prescription remedies; counsel on uses and side effects.
• Interact with physicians regarding patient concerns on behalf of patients.
• Receive verbal RX orders and reduce to writing per regulations.
• Fill, label and bag prescriptions; ensure accuracy and safety.
• Maintain RX inventory and participate in controlled substances accounting.
• Provide immunizations and assist with OTC recommendations.
• Use RX computer system efficiently and accurately; communicate with store personnel.
• Be familiar with third-party billing and procedures; process charges for customers.
• Supervise staff if assigned and manage department operations when needed.
