Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers is hiring a Pharmacy Certified Technician to support the store pharmacy team and deliver excellent customer service. You will assist pharmacists, handle reception, data entry, adjudication and dispensing steps, and help run daily operations with HIPAA-compliant practices.

You will also train and mentor new technicians, uphold accurate records, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards while reflecting the company values in every interaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of Pharmacy Certified Technician experience within the Kroger enterprise.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional, dependable with a positive attitude and good judgment to lead the pharmacy team.
• Self-motivated and able to organize, prioritize, plan and meet deadlines.
• Proven attention to detail and stellar customer service skills.
• Excellent communication with leaders and peers.
• Completion of national/state registration, certification or license as required by state law.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring a pharmacist's professional judgment.
• Provide a stellar customer experience while accurately completing reception, data entry, adjudication, and product dispensing steps.
• Train and mentor new hire technicians and provide day-to-day support for pharmacy staff.
• Help schedule and support station rotation and manage hourly staff according to labor forecasts.
• Oversee inventory management, including orders, returns, and physical inventory preparation.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations and report unsafe conditions.

• Serve as the primary representative for store-wide meetings/huddles
• Help create and manage scheduling and station rotation for the hourly staff per labor forecasts
• Complete the PIC Assistant process walk
• Prepare for offsite Business to Business clinics (biometric screenings, vaccinations) to support pharmacist
• Oversee inventory management including, but not limited to, reconciling orders, returns process, physical inventory preparation
• Act as pharmacy safety subject matter expert being able to recognize areas of opportunity and coach to correctness as appropriate
• Comply with and reinforce all sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
• Administer immunizations where applicable by state law
• Must be willing and able to adequately perform all essential job functions and tasks of a pharmacy senior certified technician
