PharMerica in Greensburg, PA is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Purchasing Coordinator to join our closed-door pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients. You’ll manage inventory, forecast needs, and purchase from wholesalers and internal warehouses to ensure continuous medication access.

The role emphasizes proactive backorder resolution, sourcing alternatives, contract support, and cost-saving initiatives across field locations, with opportunities for training and career growth

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of college education.
• One year of professional experience or Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimal pharmacy inventory by managing minimum/maximum stock levels, forecasting needs, and purchasing from wholesalers and internal warehouses.
• Actively manage and resolve drug backorders, including sourcing alternatives from other pharmacies or suppliers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to drug purchasing and inventory management.
• Inform pharmacy management promptly of any critical drug shortages that may necessitate changes in patient therapy.
• Adjust inventory min/max thresholds in response to volume changes or new business demands.
• Support the implementation of new contracts and programs across field pharmacy locations.
• Monitor and manage participation in strategic purchasing initiatives and cost-saving programs.
