Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support customer service, process prescriptions, and assist with third-party functions in a Ohio pharmacy setting. You will contribute to inventory management and clinical services under supervision.

This role requires enrollment in a pharmacy program and active intern license, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and patient care. You will engage patients in conversations, help with medication selection and pricing, and use the pharmacy computer

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Intern License (state specific).
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Neat and legible penmanship; organizational and prioritization skills.
• Team-oriented mindset; timeliness and dependability.
• Basic math skills; drive to stay current in all pharmacy-related functions.
• Excellent customer service skills and empathy.
• Professional appearance and understanding of patient confidentiality.
• Knowledge of third party help and MTM platforms; ability to perform health screenings when trained.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service.
• Assist patients with product selection and medication pricing; process prescriptions.
• Process and fill prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy computer system for data entry and third-party adjudication; label prescriptions; manage Will Call orders.
• Handle third-party functions and inventory management.
• Update balance on hand; order products; handle vendor chargebacks/transfers/salvage.
• Provide clinical services as applicable.
