1200 MH-Memphis Hospitals in Indianapolis is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist with various functions in the pharmacy department. Responsibilities include preparing medications, answering calls, and maintaining inventory. The internship progresses with increasing responsibilities.
Currently enrolled in a pharmacy program is required, along with an interest in health system pharmacy. No prior experience necessary. The position demands good balance, coordination, and the ability to handle light work.
The Pharmacy Intern will perform various tasks for the pharmacy department under direct supervision, preparing them for a pharmacist position in health‑system pharmacy. The Intern will receive progressive responsibilities each year of the internship and model appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Stated interest in health system pharmacy is desired. Demonstrated competency at each internship level must be achieved before progressing to the next level.
No supervisory functions are assigned to this position.
The position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Light work with exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The position is typically performed under general office or administrative conditions with no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
