1200 MH-Memphis Hospitals is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to perform various tasks for the pharmacy department under supervision. This internship will prepare candidates for a pharmacist position in health-system pharmacy with progressive responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a college pharmacy program and possess strong customer relations and medication preparation skills. Responsibilities include performing unit dose functions, assisting with inventory, and participating in research projects.
The Pharmacy Intern will perform various tasks for the pharmacy department under direct supervision, preparing them for a pharmacist position in health‑system pharmacy. The Intern will receive progressive responsibilities each year of the internship and model appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Stated interest in health system pharmacy is desired. Demonstrated competency at each internship level must be achieved before progressing to the next level.
No supervisory functions are assigned to this position.
The position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Light work with exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The position is typically performed under general office or administrative conditions with no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
