Job summary

IHA is seeking Pharmacy Interns (P1/P2) for a part-time, rotating shift in our hospital pharmacy. The role provides daily pharmacy technical, operational and professional services under supervision, with weekend availability and the potential to flex to 40 hours in summer.

Responsibilities include dispensing checks, compounding, patient confidentiality, and adherence to USP 797/800. You will collaborate with pharmacists and other health care staff to ensure safe, accurate medication use.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in first professional year of PharmD program.
• Current Michigan Pharmacy Intern license or in progress.
• Strong attention to accuracy and safety in drug preparation.

Responsibilities

• Performs pharmacy technician duties regularly.
• Fills unit dosages for automated dispensing cabinets.
• Compounds topical and internal dosage forms per policy.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Adheres to USP 797/800 guidelines and aseptic technique.
• Assists with process improvements and problem resolution.
