Job summary

University Hospitals in Ravenna, Ohio seeks a Pharmacy Intern to develop knowledge and competency while performing pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

The role includes participating in interdisciplinary rounds, drug purchasing, admission medication histories, counseling and patient education, and ensuring patient care compliance with Ohio Board of Pharmacy standards. The intern will also precept trainees and contribute to education and scholarship activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to participate in rounds and discharge teaching with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and patient care activities under pharmacist supervision.
• Assist with medication history, counseling, and patient education.
• Support medication information, dosing monitoring, and drug information queries.
• Assist in vaccinations and immunization workflows where applicable.
• Assist in ordering, compounding, and dispensing under supervision.
• Teach and precept trainees during IPPE rotations.
