Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in Illinois who will support customer service, process and fill prescriptions, manage third party functions, inventory, and clinical services. You will work under a pharmacist to provide care and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Intern License (state-specific).
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Neat and legible penmanship; organizational and prioritization skills.
• Team-oriented, timely, and dependable.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and MTM platforms.
• Knowledge of health screening tests and immunizations (with training).
• Knowledge of brand/generic medication names; dosage forms; pharmaceutical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Customer service.
• Communicate with patients in person and by phone; assist with product selection; obtain medication prices.
• Process and fill prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy computer system for data entry and third party adjudication; count and label prescriptions; Will Call station operations.
• Third-party functions.
• Inventory management; balance on hand; ordering; vendor chargebacks/transfers/salvage.
• Provide clinical services.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
